Keep a list of all your medications with you where ever you go. It can be small enough to keep in your wallet, but it can come in handy if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to give this list to someone.
Keep a file at home of all the information that comes with new medication. This way if you or a family member ever has a question about your medication, it is all kept in one place.
Stick to one pharmacy. Your pharmacist does a good job of making sure all your medication will work well together but they can only see the medications that they dispense – they don’t know about the medications you get from other pharmacies.
Get into a routine of taking your medications at the same time each day. If you have to take them multiple times throughout the day, associating them with meals can help. Using a calendar or alarm system can be effective as well. Some people find pill organizers effective because they can clearly see which pills have been taken and which have not.
If you have trouble remembering which medications to take when, speak with your pharmacist. They might be able to pre-package your medications into a blister pack so all your pills are sorted out by which time you need to take them to avoid confusion.
